User Data Deletion
Last updated: 2026-10-04
This page explains how to request deletion of your data from AiHopper, including data associated with a connected Instagram account. It is the page referenced as AiHopper’s Data Deletion Instructions in the Meta App Dashboard.
Option 1 — delete your AiHopper account yourself
The fastest way to delete your data is from within the product, no waiting required:
- Open AiHopper and sign in.
- To remove just the Instagram connection: go to account settings and disconnect the Instagram account. This immediately deletes the stored access token and pauses attached automations.
- To remove an entire workspace and its data: use the workspace deletion option in settings. This erases the workspace’s database records and stored media that AiHopper controls.
- To delete your AiHopper account entirely: use account deletion in Settings → Data & privacy. It is carried out 14 days later (sign in before then to keep the account); meanwhile your plan stops renewing and your automations and scheduled posts pause. A workspace you own alone is erased with your account; a shared workspace where you are the only owner requires transferring ownership first.
Option 2 — request deletion through Meta / Instagram
If you disconnect or remove AiHopper’s access from within Instagram’s or Meta’s own account settings (Apps and Websites), Meta may notify AiHopper through an automated callback that AiHopper has implemented specifically for this purpose. When AiHopper receives that notification, the following happens:
- Meta sends AiHopper a signed deletion request identifying the Instagram account.
- AiHopper verifies the request’s authenticity (a cryptographic signature Meta includes, checked against AiHopper’s app secret) before acting on it.
- AiHopper looks up the AiHopper workspace connection associated with that Instagram account, if one exists.
- The stored Instagram access token for that connection is deleted immediately, and the connection is marked disconnected.
- Attached automations are paused.
- Instagram-sourced content tied to that connection — comments, direct messages/conversations, leads derived from them, Instagram Insights statistics, the public media kit and tracked-link click counts — is deleted from AiHopper’s database.
- Content you created yourself in AiHopper (such as uploaded Reels or AI-generated drafts) is not deleted by this automated step, since it is not Instagram-provided data; delete your workspace/account directly (Option 1) to remove that as well.
- AiHopper responds to Meta with a confirmation code and a status URL, so Instagram/Meta can show you a status page for the request.
We cannot promise instantaneous, irreversible removal from every layer of our infrastructure: see the retention note below.
Option 3 — email us directly
You can also request deletion by emailing privacy@www.aihopper.in from the email address on your AiHopper account (or otherwise providing enough information for us to verify you are the account holder). We will identify the account/workspace/Instagram connection involved and action the request per this page.
What deletion covers, and what it does not guarantee immediately
Deletion removes the corresponding database records and stored media objects we control, and deletes stored Instagram tokens immediately. Any background job queued against the deleted data (for example a scheduled publish) is cancelled or fails safely once the underlying record is gone. As described in our Privacy Policy, backup snapshots are not individually edited on deletion — they age out and are replaced on our normal backup rotation, so deleted data may persist in a backup for a period after your request. We do not promise instantaneous physical erasure from every backup copy.
Check the status of a Meta-initiated deletion request
If Meta gave you a confirmation code after you removed AiHopper from your Instagram/Meta account settings, you can check its status at https://www.aihopper.in/data-deletion/status/<confirmation code>.
